About Capture Point

Capture Point was established in 2008 to offer 3D Scanning and CAD services to capture the form and detail of physical objects by digitizing them for use on a computer.

After gaining a degree in Product Design and Visualisation and following 20 years’ experience in the engineering industry, company founder Doug embarked upon creating Capture Point to encompass his passion about all things 3D, technology, engineering and design.

Doug had worked for premium automotive manufacturers on luxury, premium, sports and supercar projects and as technology progressed, he realised how useful 3D scanning and printing could be, and developed his expertise in this area.

He found that similar companies were established by people from a quality control background, and whilst quality is still key to the process, Capture Point provides scanning for engineers, by engineers.

Technology is progressing all the time, but Capture Point always has the best 3D scanning technologies for the job at hand. Working with multiple technologies enables the company to take on a multitude of projects and work with all types of requirements. The key element is listening and understanding to the client’s requirements, so the best recommendations can be made.

How Capture Point can help you

We use the very latest metrology grade scanning systems to ensure our reverse engineering process starts with the very best data possible to create CAD models for use in downstream processes.

We scan your parts and align and compare the data to an existing CAD master model, which allows us to quickly see deviations over the object or direct us to inspect specific points.

We produce high resolution 3D scans with industry leading accuracy from 0.03mm. We can 3D scan any object, any size, from just a few mm up to 100m plus and any surface, any colour.
